Hello everyone, My name is Rick O'Brien. Due to the outbreak of the COVID19 virus, I feel compelled to write this article.

Speaking as one of the at risk senior citizens, I must strongly recommended that those of us who have any interaction with the at risk group purchase an air purifier for their home and workplace. Also, anyone who is in this risk group, please do not hesitate in obtaining an air purifier. It is extremely important.

This will GREATLY reduce the passing of illnesses to one another and will tremendously improve the air that you breathe.

Not All Air Purifiers Deliver The Cleanest Air

The hardest part of finding the right air purifier is sifting through all of the technical data that the air purifier manufacturers provide. Additioanlly, many of the manufacturers provide misleading or confusing information to hide their respective product's short comings.

This is where I can help get you to the best air purifier being made. And guess what? It will not cost a fortune to purchase. Two important pieces of information.

The number one important thing to know about an air purifier is the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR). If you don't see it listed in the product description, Do Not Buy It. They are trying to hide how bad their product performs. The CADR rating you want to see is 200 or higher. This CADR number indicates the amount of cubic feet of clean air that is generated every 20 minutes.

The second most important piece of information is whether the air purifier produces negative or positive ions. If the air purifier uses just one of these, DO Not Buy It.

Current technology will produce no ions for you to be harmed, mainly to your lungs. The new technology uses what is called "Plasma Wave". This produces an incredibly low amount of positive and negative ions (this is good) and destroys germs and virus contaminants, as well as dust particles as tiny as 0.3 microns. The Plasma Wave feature will lower humidity in the room where it is used. The reason for this is the Plasma Wave feature splits water (humidity) in the air (on a micron level). This can lower the humidity levels a few percentage points.

If you have to have people in your house for a significant length of time, even when following recommendations, have a HEPA air purifier in the house that removes particles smaller than viruses to handle the aerosols that get past the masks and from people not wearing masks properly or not at all, and that build up in the room over time.

Some air purifiers are IQ Air, Blue Air, Austin Air, AllerAir, etc. Whichever brand you use, be sure it removes particles smaller than 0.1 microns, as the SARS Cov 2 virus molecule is approx. 0.05 to 0.2 microns. The more people there are in a room, and the longer they stay, the more the aerosols build up. If you have to visit someone else’s house, take your portable HEPA filter with you. Above all, don’t share a meal with family and friends, unless everyone has been recently tested negative in the last few days, or unless you are outside with plenty distance between each person.

Inside a building, this is probably the highest risk situation, comparable to bars, restaurants, and large crowds. The recent upsurge in cases has been from small family gatherings more than from public spaces. It is easier to pretend that contact with friends or family is safe, in contrast to that with strangers, and we feel reluctant to set limits on our friends and we are more likely to feel offended if they set limits on us. This is a much more difficult area to protect, and we need to pay more attention to how we interact privately with people we consider close to us.
